Information about our activist contributors
Sandra is a retired Polytechnic lecturer, and a part-time piano and keyboard teacher. She is a dedicated vegan/animal activist who has carried out slaughterhouse vigils for the last seven years, much of that time standing in front of slaughterhouses by herself. Sandra does her vigils as part of the worldwide Save Movement (Whanganui Animal Save on Facebook).
Sandra produced and presented the animal rights radio and podcast ‘Safe and Sound’ for four years, and was a finalist in the New Zealand Radio Awards in 2018. She has written many opinion editorials on Animal Rights, has been interviewed by mainstream media, and is the author of the self-published book “Glass Walls, A Plea to Close Slaughterhouses in New Zealand by 2025”.
